It's going to be ok....

I still have many other worries right now, but one of my major ones is on its way out of my life!!! I finished typing my research paper up, and later on tonight I'm going to proofread it, change any crazy mistakes, and then type up my bibliography!

Thanks to everyone who prayed for me...It was very much appreciated. Don't stop! There are still many, MANY things that I need to get done.

I'm going home this week-end, and I am very excited about this! I know that this week is going to fly by, and I hope that I can use every minute God gives me productively!

Take care...
Love, Ashleigh

Bogged down and STRESSED OUT!!!!

Ok, so the end of the year is coming in about four weeks. I don't have a job for the summer, I have a major paper due Tuesday, I have another paper due on April 13, plus weekly homework, plus memorizing 40 Bible verses, plus studying for exams...if there's more, I'm going to go crazy. I have already pretty much gone crazy.

Now I know how they can cram everything into four months in university, and why they let us out two months earlier than elementary and secondary schools.

No matter how much teachers in highschool tell you they're preparing you for college, not so much. Not one thing that I did in highschool prepared me for this at all!!!

Please pray for me as I wade through these next few weeks, working and studying and doing my normal homework. I need LOTS and LOTS of prayer. It doesn't matter whether you are the praying kind of person...I would appreciate even a sentence of prayer right now!

Thank you!
I hope that everyone has a great week-end...

Love, Ash

Wonderful sunshine

What a beautiful day it was today!!! I was so happy to see the sun outside, that I sat out on the bench for a few minutes to enjoy it. Although the air was chilly, the sun was "bem quente"!(nice and warm)

Golden light beaming-
Sunshine is warm on my face.
I bask in its glow.

Dancing from heaven,
Finger-like rays touch my skin-
Delight fills my soul.

Slowly close my eyes-
Never wake me from this dream!
Enraptured in love.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful evening-may God give us another beautiful day like this tomorrow!

The Week-end

It was so good to have Mel visit me this week-end. We got caught up on all our chats and spending time together! I miss her now!
She came with us to our choir performance yesterday. It was a fun church, very informal. Alot of us were glad that we went there to sing!
This week is going to be an interesting week. I have much work to do, and so little time to do it.

I hope everyone has a great day-I'm heading out to get some lunch-

Yay! Visiting!

My sister came to visit me today! I'm so excited...she's sleeping right now, because she's cute like that. haha
tonight we're going to a concert, and I'm not really sure what we're doing tomorrow. Impulsivness is fun, so it really doesn't matter!

Here is a blessing for you today:

May your smile
Never end-
May you gain
A close friend.

May you love
With your heart-
May your joy
Never part.

May you give
For love's sake-
May your heart
Never break.

May you be
Fully blessed-
May you find
Peace and rest!!

Ode To Spring

This is one of my favourite seasons of they year, so of course I had to write a poem describing its beauty. Here it goes:

Heat rising from the
earth's core-

Sky turning brighter
shades of blue-

Trees displaying branches
laden with blossoms-

Breezes blowing a
warm soft wind-

Nature portraying the
handiwork of God-

Flowers depicting the colours
of His palette-

Rain renewing the dryness
of the ground-

Grass returning to the
vibrancy of green-

Air smelling of dew
and new life-

God giving this
wonderful gift of

Spring, refreshing my
soul once again.

Hurray for Procrastination

This is the last thing I'm going to do before I stop procrastinating.
I went grocery shopping today, and I bought Goat feta cheese...if none of you have ever tried it, you absolutely MUST! It is amazing stuff.

I really don't have much to say today...I was just needing another excuse to write(rather, type).

Ok, well I'm going to get off this blasted computer and do something worthwhile! Hope everyone is having a stellar saturday!

World Day of Prayer 2007

Today was an awesome day. It was the World Day of Prayer, I'm not sure if anyone has heard of it. It's when people around the world gather together to ... pray for the world! Seeing as all my midterms are done and I wasn't doing much today, I decided to say yes to speaking at a church about Brasil for this day of prayer. It was my cousin Donna's church in the big TO, and I was so excited for yet another chance to go to Toronto.

Donna and I went out for lunch at the Mongolian Grill, which is one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been to in my life. It's like a mix of a Chinese buffet with a stir-fry place, where you can pick whatever you want to put in your stir-fry. Plus desserts. MMMMMMMMMMMmm.. it was absolutely delicious! Thank you Donna! If no one has ever been to this restaurant, you have to go and check it out!

When we got to the church, I found out something-I was the only one who was going to be speaking! I thought that I was only one of many people doing a reflection about something, but nope. All eyes were on me! It was a good time of readings, and prayer, and reflecting on the importance of unity. It was nice to meet the people who came afterwards, and some of them know my grandparents...on both sides of my family. I feel kind of famous, and I'm glad that they made a good impression on these people before I met them. haha!

Ok, well it's going to be bed time soon. I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow...filled with much homework and research to be done. Woot!

Hope everyone has a great night...if anyone even reads this before bed.

MID-TERMS ARE OVER!!!!

It has been a while since I've written a blog. Exactly one week in fact. Well, I went home and was planning on coming back on Saturday night, but my family is very persuasive, and I ended up staying until Sunday. It was my Dad's birthday on Saturday night though, and it would have been too rushed to celebrate with him if I had left that night. It's times like these that I wish I had my G2, so that I could drive myself places!

It turned out to be awesome that I stayed till Sunday though. I had some sweet bonding times with one of my beautiful sisters. We went out for lunch at Kelsey's and used up our sweet gift certificates from Tim's!! ya! Next time I go home I have to spend some time with Vanessa...I feel bad because I think she felt a little left out of our little sisterhood. Another totally awesome and random thing that happened was I got to visit a friend I used to work with at Tim Horton's!! Varsha and her husband are East Indian, and I was so excited to see them because it's been a year! She's now eight months pregnant, due sometime this month. She is ecstatic, and I'm so happy for both of them. What a wonderful thing to reconnect with them again!

This week has been interesting. I have written three mid-term exams, and worked, and that's pretty much it. I'm glad it's over. I'm not going to class tomorrow morning (which I am disappointed about because I really like that class) but I'm going to Toronto so that will be fun.

Please pray for me. This semester has been really hard on me, and even though the pressures of mid-terms are off, I still have quite a few assignments to do for the end of March, as well as getting ready for finals. I need all the prayer I can get right about now!

Another thing to pray about...I was thinking about applying to be on our Student Cabinet (STUCA) next year as Secretary/Treasurer. Then, the President of STUCA came by the other day and told me the executive had nominated me. So next week the student body will be voting for the different positions on STUCA, and I really would like to do this. I have never felt so excited to do this kind of thing before...come to think of it I have never done anything like this before. It's kind of like stepping out of my comfort zone, but I am ready for it! I'm so excited and can't wait to see what God will bring next week!

If any of you have prayer requests, just add a comment and I will do my best to pray for you. I hope everyone has a great night!

Love, Ash
