Today is sweltering hot, and the air conditioning in our house isn't working. It's not that I'm spoiled, I grew up without it and can manage fine. It's just that we don't have many screens on the windows, so we can't even open anything up to let some air flow through. Yet, a moment ago I heard some excited shouts from my roommates, possibly indicating it may be back on.
I discovered my love for Loreena Mckennitt's music, notably the song called "The Mummer's Dance". It is so beautiful, lilting, and haunting at the same time. It is like a mix of Celtic, Arabic, and Indian music all at once, and entices me with its tantalizing sound.

I too order on line from time to time, in fact did so today.
The site I was ordering from is in Thornhill and shipping was just over $6:00 .
However given the cost of gas and travelling there and back, for me it was worth the cost, especially as what I was ordering is hard to get locally.
I guess you just have to weigh the pros and cons for each situation and if you are close enough to pick it up locally, then wave the shipping costs and go for it. I hope your air-conditioning is back in working order.
We have only had ours on once or twice so far.
I have not heard Loreena McKennitt lately but it think I remember that I did enjoy her style of music.
You will have to play it for me sometime to refresh my memory..
